Deep cracks at the top of CCP

Former Premier Wen Jiabao had supported protesting students 30 years ago

In April 2021, the CCP effectively banned an article by former Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

This is a big deal in many ways. But what are the coded messages that the article convey and attracted such dramatic response?

There are at least three, each of which is powerful stuff. Lets take a look in turn.

1. Resentment of Oppression

Wen says in his article “I am against bullying and oppression”. This is a pointed statement after a year in which the CCP crushed Hong Kong, committed genocide in XinJiang, and its wolf warriors bullied people in all parts of the world. “China according to my ideal is a country of justice and fairness, which forever respect human feelings, human morality, and human nature, and forever have a spirit for youthfulness, freedom, and endeavour” Wen continued in his article. His reference to youthful students who endeavour for freedom in Hong Kong is between the lines but unmistakable.

Well this is not the first time that Wen supported protesting students. In 1989, the Tiananmen Square democracy movement was the first wave of anti-communist uprising sweeping across the world.
